Tree Sculpture at RHS Wisley

A storm damaged Monterey pine tree at RHS Wisley is carefully preserved as a work of art . The trunk of the tree is fashioned into three pine cones, the two upper ones are representations of Holford pine cones (from a nearby Pinus holfordiana, also damaged in the same storm) and the lowest one is a representation of a Monterey pine cone. On the plinth the sculptor, Paul Sivell carves a squirrel (not to scale) at the request of a sponsor of the work.
